Cookie policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

This policy explains how The Perry uses cookies and similar technologies on theperry.co.uk. Read it with our Privacy Notice.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small piece of information stored by a website in your browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags and scripts that store information or gain access to information on a device. Some are needed to provide a service you request; others require a valid choice before use.

How we use them

  • Necessary: to operate core website functions, provide security, balance or cache traffic and remember consent choices. These cannot be switched off through the preference panel where they are strictly necessary.
  • Functional: to provide optional features or remember non-essential preferences. These are disabled unless enabled through the consent panel where consent is required.
  • Analytics and performance: to understand how the website is used and improve performance. We do not rely on these categories without the required consent or a specific statutory exception.
  • Advertising: The Perry does not currently operate behavioural advertising. An advertising category may appear in the consent platform so that any future technology remains blocked unless it has been properly assessed, disclosed and permitted.
  • Uncategorised: a temporary category for technology awaiting review. Uncategorised non-essential technologies should remain blocked until classified.

Current consent technology

We use CookieYes to display the consent banner, record choices and provide the persistent “Consent Preferences” control. CookieYes may store necessary consent records such as the selected categories and the date or state of a choice. The preference panel is the current on-site record of available categories and can be reopened at any time using the consent button.

Current cookie inventory

The most recent scan, completed on 23 August 2026 across 24 pages, identified seven necessary technologies: WordPress browser capability support, CookieYes consent management, and Google reCAPTCHA anti-spam and security storage used to protect the contact form. It detected no functional, analytics, performance, advertising or uncategorised cookies. The live table below is maintained by CookieYes and should update when a later scan is reviewed and published.

Your choices

On your first visit you can accept all, reject all, or choose individual non-essential categories. Rejecting non-essential technologies should not prevent access to the editorial content. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Consent Preferences” button displayed on the website. Withdrawal does not affect use that occurred lawfully before the change.

Third-party content

If we add an optional third-party embed, such as a video, map or social-media feature, that provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Where required, the content will remain blocked until the relevant consent is given. Following a normal external link takes you to another website, whose cookie practices are controlled by that operator.

Browser controls

You can also block or delete cookies using browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent consent preferences or security features from working correctly. Browser controls do not replace the on-site consent choice for technologies already governed by that panel.

Review and changes

We review the website’s storage and access technologies when plugins or services change and after material site updates. The consent platform should be rescanned and its categories corrected when new technology is introduced. This policy will be updated where the purposes, providers or visitor choices materially change.

Contact

Questions about cookies or consent choices can be sent through the Contact page. You can also read current guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office.
